The Old Vicarage
Bright and natural were Sophie’s watchwords for this delightful country house. She chose reflective fabrics and surfaces, crystal chandeliers and earthy colours to bring light flooding in, while lots of natural wood and a classic yet contemporary kitchen create a sense of harmony between the new interiors and the rest of the house, as well as the surrounding landscape.
The Wentworth Estate
For this new-build on the world-renowned Surrey estate, Sophie opted for modern and minimalist, mixing bright and neutral colours to create an understated sophistication with a touch of glamour.
Sophie understands well the competing requirements of children’s rooms. They need to be vibrant and exciting spaces, of course, but not so exciting that they won’t get to sleep. She works closely with both children and their parents to create a cosy, calm atmosphere with a wow factor. And with growing children of her own, Sophie knows just how to tweak an interior as children get older, keeping the room age-relevant and, more importantly, the occupants happy.
This room in a London townhouse was designed for the daughter of Sophie’s friend, the fashion blogger and fellow Ladies of London star Juliet Angus. With a bespoke Matthew Williamson canopy as the focal point, Sophie carried the soft, feminine feel through the room with clever choices of colour, pattern and texture.
Starry starry nights
The wallpaper in this twin boys’ bedroom ticks all the boxes, being both striking and playful yet also offering a calm uniformity for when it’s time for bed. The star theme is reflected and contrasted in a lively rug, while the neutral storage spaces blend cleverly into the background.
Home to a high-end luxury brand, the client wanted their offices in London’s Mayfair to reflect the premium nature of their product. Sophie chose dark colours offering gravitas with dynamic graphic prints for the rugs, perfectly matching the brand’s position. The slick black lacquer and leather are the ideal complement, while adding variety to the textures and no small amount of sophistication.
This luxury London HQ is bright and sophisticated, sending out precisely the message the client wanted of funky glamour. With the help of spotlights, the yellow of the chairs pops out of the neutral background, and the dark wooden floor and graphic carpet tie the whole ensemble together. Fun elements like the neon ‘Be Nice’ sign are both funky and humorous, and blend perfectly with the bespoke furniture.
Sophie trained at the Inchbald School of Design in central London, famous, among other things, for being the first interior design school in Europe. It was here that she learned the true importance of attention to detail and began to develop her personal approach to design.
Sophie works closely with top-quality craftsmen and teams of builders, ensuring that every project is built and installed to the very highest standards and with a lasting finish. Her projects are delivered on time and within set budget guidelines.
